About Me

I am a small town girl from Arkansas. Early on I realized my wings needed to spread wider so I could fly, and fortunately, I was blessed with the opportunity to move to the city. Now, I have a lot on my plate. I am a Mom to Drew, who is a 16 year old Junior attending a prep school in Virginia. Mariah, 10, who we adopted from Ukraine when she was 2 year old. She is a 5th grader at a charter school in Research Triangle Park, and guardian God-Mom to Omar, who we acquired from Dominican Republic before returning to the states after our sabbatical. He is a sophomore studying business at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. And far from last, I am wife to the most amazing husband, Doug. I could not have chosen a better partner to enjoy this journey we call life.

I have spent my entire adult life in the ballroom dance business. Fred Astaire Dance Studio is an incredible company and I am so fortunate to have been a part of it since I started dancing in many different capacities. I spend a great amount of time teaching undergraduate students at Duke University and have done this since 1997. I have been known to dabble in the costume dress business consulting for the best line in the ballroom dress world, DORE DESIGNS. Thanks for stopping by.
